So what exactly is OCAnime.com?  Well, for short, it's the official website of the Orange County Anime Group on meetup.com (but you already knew that from the homepage).  So, if we already have a group page live on the internet, then why the website?  Well, as good as it is for hosting our group, Meetup is severely limited to us in terms of content that we could have to further expose our group to the general otaku population around Southern California...

Also, since our group is a private group on meetup.com (meaning the only content available to non-members is an about page), this website aims to serve as a good way to inform anyone interested in joining OCAG as to what our group is all about as well as what we do at meetups, whether they be anime viewings or social outings and more.  So, not only is the website a chance for more exposure, but it will also give our current members a chance to get more out of this group outside of meetups than just browsing the message boards, as well as prospective members an even more thorough look at who we are in addition to what's already on our meetup page, or in other words, a more enriching anime experience.

Among some of the things you can expect to see from this site:

Details about our upcoming events plus brief summaries and recaps of past meetups; whether anime viewing or social outings as well as selected photos from our meetups (where applicable)

Commarine's Picks: A monthly installment of anime and manga new and old as selected by one of the group organizers and reviewed.  A great way to keep up on anime and manga, both new and old and to get informed of titles you may have not heard of before!

Also watch out for Commarine's List, a top 10 in various aspects of anime and Title Bout, where Commarine pits two characters from various anime against each other to see just who would win in a fight

Organizer's intros: Get to know the organizers of OCAG and their favorite anime/manga titles, anime backgrounds and more

AnimeJunkie's blog: Part anime related, part random off the wall topic...a blog by the site's webmaster and group co-organizer

...and so much more to come as the site progresses!
